About Us

Lifelong Dog Lovers, Responsible Breeders
At Salem’s Finest, we’ve been devoted to Chihuahuas and Dachshunds for many years — now proudly working on our 7th generation of Chihuahua lines. We breed only purebred AKC Chihuahuas and Dachshunds, never mixes, with an unwavering commitment to health, temperament, and breed integrity.

Our dogs live with us in our home, not in kennels. They explore, play, and snuggle right alongside us as cherished members of the family. From early socialization to sound temperament, our goal is to raise puppies who transition smoothly into loving homes.

We follow the Puppy Culture protocol, which promotes early neurological stimulation, social development, and training basics. Our puppies are introduced to various surfaces, household sounds, and basic potty training to prepare them for your home.

Health & Genetics

We Take Health Seriously
All of our dogs receive routine veterinary care and comprehensive health testing:

• Genetic testing through Embark (public results on our site)

• OFA certified patellas and hearts

• CHIC certified eyes

• DNA profiled with the AKC

• Merle and Dapple testing through UC Davis for accurate gene identification

Our Puppies

Lovingly Raised, Carefully Placed
We raise both long coat and smooth coat Chihuahuas and Dachshunds in a range of colors and patterns. Our puppies are pets first, and most are placed with limited AKC registration (after proof of spay/neuter). Full AKC may be available with an approved application.

Our puppies are:

• Raised with 24/7 love and attention

• Socialized early with people, surfaces, and household noises

• Started on pee pad training

• Sent home with a personalized blanket that smells like mom & littermates
