Background: Clementine was born at SFC. She was held back because she is 5th generation of our program but she was just too small. We allowed her to have a couple of heat cycles in hopes that she would grow a little more but she is just too petite for our comfort level. She was spayed and had a dental recently. She completed her core puppy boosters and had her one year booster when it was due as well as her Rabies. Clementine can have her name changed. Her parents are retired Lemon and retired Yukon. Her coat is called blue and tan Merle. Due to the blue base (dilute black) she also has thin fur on her back of her ears. This may never fully grown in. She is potty pad trained and trained to go outside to go potty and uses a doggy door. She is treat motivated. She is very friendly to people and other animals. She is does great in the car. We haven't witnessed any motion sickness with her before. She has been genetically health tested with Embark. The link is above. I did also have her patellas and cardiac certified but didn't turn in the paperwork to OFA since I had decided to spay and pet her out. She has tight patellas and her heart is clear of a murmur. She has a pretty docile personality and I think she would blend into a household very well given time and patience. She does well with both men and women. She is a minimal barker. She is easy to groom and trim her nails. Clementine has not been around any small children, but she is very young, so I think We do not have any cats or large breed dogs so we cannot confirm how she would behave with either of those other household pets.
Clementine is coming from a breeding environment so will need to be potty trained in a new environment. At this time she is used to indoor potty pads and a dog door to use her yard. This typically improves after alteration and when they are removed from a breeding environment, but please do not attempt to adopt her if you are wanting a fully house trained animal. Like every animal we post for rehoming, we hope you would understand that they will have accidents initially and will need patience! Clementine does well in the car, new people and with our vet staff. She is dog door trained and crate trained. She is not leash trained. We have rehomed a lot of dogs over the years and they all seem to mesh into a new environment fairly well with time and patience. She is a very loving companion and would be an ideal pet for someone who needs a constant friend nearby. Please consider Clementine for your home and family.
She has been genetically health tested with Embark and is clear in all breed relevant categories.
We encourage all prospective adopters to really think this through and not take on a dog that may not work for you. We want her next home to be her forever home. To submit an application for Clementine, please use our puppy/dog application for consideration.
-
Please be aware that Clementine is from a breeding home. She will not be fully potty trained in a new environment and will take patience and the ability to retrain to establish a new routine
-
Please read the post below about the 3/3/3 rule! Not one dog is like another and you need to be open minded when adopting an adult dog who is very used to their current environment
