Background: Frankie was not born at SFC, but her mama was! Frankie came to join our pack in 2023. She was originally born in Michigan. Our breeder friend stepped down from her program and asked us if we would take over the care of her dogs and Frankie was one of those dogs we took in. Frankie is now retired and looking for her forever home. Her name is Frankie Sue, but her name can be changed. We joke and call her Frank as well as Frank and beans. Frankie is a sweet, calm by nature, lovable young lady. She is a black and tan Merle smooth coat. Her merle markings on her coat are phenomenal. Her coat is smooth and does require minimal grooming.  Frankie is about 9.0 pounds. She does well with both men and women. She has grown up with some small children, but I can't guarantee she will be a family friend dog. She was also around cats at her previous home in  Michigan. Frankie is extremely affectionate and loves to smoother you with her face for attention. She loves blankets and the couch as well as your bed. She has captured all of our hearts and will be missed.

Frankie is coming from a breeding environment so will need to be potty trained in a new environment. At this time she is used to indoor potty pads and a dog door to use her yard. This typically improves after alteration and when they are removed from a breeding environment, but please do not attempt to adopt her if you are wanting a fully house trained animal. Like every animal we post for rehoming, we hope you would understand that they will have accidents initially and will need patience! Frankie is a submissive girl and has never shown any tendencies of being dominant or aggressive. Frankie does well in the car for small trips like to the Vet or to grooming appointments. She is dog door trained and crate trained. She has never been walked on a leash with a harness but you can teach an old dog new tricks! We have rehomed a lot of dogs over the years and they all seem to mesh into a new environment fairly well with time and patience. She is a very loving companion and would be an ideal pet for someone who needs a constant friend nearby. Please consider Frankie for your home and family.

She has been genetically health tested with Embark and is clear in all breed relevant categories. She has had her heart and patellas certified with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.

We encourage all prospective adopters to really think this through and not take on a dog that may not work for you. We want her next home to be her forever home. To submit an application for Frankie, please use our puppy application for consideration.

  • Please be aware that Frankie is from a breeding home. She will not be fully potty trained in a new environment and will take patience and the ability to retrain to establish a new routine

  • Please read the post below about the 3/3/3 rule! Not one dog is like another and you need to be open minded when adopting an adult dog who is very used to their current environment

  • Shipping available (new owner agrees to pay for return shipping if placement doesn't work out)

  • Meet in greet recommended but not required
