Background: Full disclosure, Kenzi was adopted 9 months ago and was recently returned to us due to a family emergency in our clients home. We recently had her vetted again and brought her Rabies up to date and did a dental cleaning on her.

Kenzi retired from our breeding program. She blessed us with several amazing litters and it's now time to let her be a happy couch potato. She is retiring due to our choice, and nothing is of concern with her health. She is a blue, long coat female. We have several dogs related to her and find her to be a wonderful young lady.  Her coat is long and does require minimal grooming. Her coat is not full due to having heat cycles and litters. She is now spayed and I anticipate her coat to come in fully and will be fluffy. Kenzi is about 12.0 pounds now due to not having adequate exercise in the previous home. She knows her name pretty well, but it can be changed if necessary. She does well with both men and women, but prefers me as I have been her mom since I adopted her. She has grown up with our three sons, but our sons are now young adults so I am unsure how she will do with small children or cats. She is a loyal dog and a bit timid with new people or changes, but once adapted, she is a funny, sweet girl. She does prefer women as her primary caregivers. She once lived with large breed dogs but it's been over a year since she has been around another one. Kenzi is pee pad trained but a new environment will require patience and training. This typically improves after alteration and when they are removed from a breeding environment, but please do not attempt to adopt her if you are wanting a fully house trained animal. Kenzi is a submissive girl and has never shown any tendencies of being dominant or aggressive. Kenzi does well in the car and we have not experienced her getting car sick. She is dog door trained and crate trained. She has never been walked on a leash with a harness but you can teach an old dog new tricks! We have rehomed a lot of dogs over the years and they all seem to mesh into a new environment fairly well with time and patience.

She has been genetically health tested with Embark and is clear in all breed relevant categories. She has had her heart, eyes and patellas certified with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.

We want her next home to be her forever home. To submit an application for Kenzi , please use our puppy/dog application for consideration.

  • Please be aware that Kenzi is from a breeding home. She will not be fully potty trained in a new environment and will take patience and the ability to retrain to establish a new routine

  • Please read the post below about the 3/3/3 rule! Not one dog is like another and you need to be open minded when adopting an adult dog who is very used to their current environment

  • Shipping available (new owner agrees to pay for return shipping if placement doesn't work out)

  • Meet in greet recommended but not required
