We offer stud services on select males in our breeding program. Our males available for stud service are all proven and completed all recommended health testing, genetic testing and AKC DNA'd.

At this time, we are only offering stud services locally. We will be looking into adding shipped semen in the future.

What are the requirements?

1. Your female must be over 12 months of age with verification of her date of birth

2. Your female must have genetic testing completed such as Embark, Wisdom panel, etc. to verify her color traits and genetic markers

3. If your female has already produced a litter previously, you must have your female cleared from Brucella Canis (Brucellosis) by a licensed Veterinarian

4. Your dog must be up to date on core immunizations such as Distemper/Parvo and Rabies and verification is required

5. There will be a contract between Salem's Finest and the interested party

6. Payments are accepted through debit/credit card at 3% fee of balance paid through an emailed invoice via Quickbooks. No exceptions on forms of payments. NO cash is accepted. Please see our payment policies on our website for more information.

What is included and not included?

1. We try to complete at least three natural ties during the breeding window of your female

2. We consider a litter to be one or more puppies born, especially in the Chihuahua breed

3. We are not responsible for stillbirths or puppies that are not viable, or do not have the ability to thrive

4. We are not responsible for planned cesarean sections or emergency cesarean sections

5. We are not responsible for Canine Herpes Virus, Bordetella, Mycoplasma or Giardia

6. We will send you photos of the "tie" as it happens up to three times.

7. We are not responsible for advertising your future litter, helping you sell your litter and you MAY NOT use our kennel name to help you sell your puppies. You may use the photos we provide to you of our studs but we are in no way affiliated with your litter.

Additional fees not included in the stud fee:

Boarding/housing of your female while she is in our care for breeding purposes. Your female will be kept in a tower boarding cage during her visit with us. She will be let out to go potty on a leash and then put back in her boarding cage. She will also be bred in this boarding cage as well. Your female will not interact with our dogs, except for the male you have selected for her breeding choice. If your female does not like the male you have chosen for her and breeding does not take place, boarding fees and breeding fees are still due to Salem's Finest, but the stud fee would be waived. We do not do artificial insemination on outside females. This service is not provided. Boarding fees does include dog food provided, but you are welcome to pack your own dog food if your dog is on a special diet. The fee is not reduced for consideration of this. The food we use for our animals is Purina ProPlan lamb and rice for puppies.

We have a schedule listed here on our website that shows our dates available to meet with clients. If you need your female picked up outside these dates, we will arrange to do so, but there will be a pick up fee. We are not available on weekends at all. We meet our clients in a public location to obtain your female (Petco) in Keizer, OR and we will arrange to meet you back at this location when your female is ready to go home to you. We do not provide our home address. We can also do our pick up and drop off at a Portland location, but the delivery fee would need to be applied, plus the pick up on alternative date fee as well. See details below.

You may not meet our available males in our stud program. Studs are chosen from the photos and information we provide on our website to you. If you wish to register your future litter with the AKC, please be aware that stud services does not include AKC registration. This would be an additional fee and must be decided upon prior to our contract agreement between both parties. Stud fee services also do not include "breeder fees". As stated previously, we try to obtain at least three natural ties for our breeding agreement. This takes time and that is what the breeder fees are intended for. We do not leave your female and our male left unattended at any time.

Stud Fee Services

$1000.00 for non Merle males

Salem's Finest is not interested in any form of a puppy back deal or puppy chosen after litter is born. Stud Fee services are done with currency forms only! No exceptions.

Registering your Litter with AKC

$150.00

This is due on the final invoice if you wish to obtain this when your litter is born. This service can be added after your litter is born. A new invoice will be emailed to you. 3% service fee not included.

Boarding of your female

$18.00 a day or $100.00 a week. This amount is rounded up to our next available date we are available. We are not available on weekends. Minimum amount due prior to services rendered is one week ($100.00). If your female is with us longer than a week, then additional boarding fees will be included on your final invoice. (3% service fee not included.) We meet our clients typically every other week. Please plan accordingly.

Dog food is provided at no extra cost
If a rebreeding is needed, this service would be due again. This is not included in the stud service fees.

Pick up fee on alternative dates

$50.00

due prior to services rendered
If you want to pick up your dog before our next available date, this service would be due again on the final invoice otherwise please plan accordingly!

Pick up location is only held locally in Keizer, Oregon for alternative dates. Alternative dates mean that these dates are not listed on our published schedule.

**Portland is an option for pick up as well, but the pick up fee would include the delivery fee of $200.00 plus alternative pick up date fee. If your dog has to be returned to a Portland location for return of your dog, then delivery fee would be applied again plus the pick up fee ($250.00 for example at drop off of and $250.00 for pick up. This is only for Portland locations)**
